The game is back and running well, no more doomsday botched release. But overall... yea, I don't play it any more.
Before any one calls me out for hi-jacking this thread....
Some games just don't fit a players style. Though in general I agree with the OPs experience in the late game. So...

I believe it's important to maintain some army. The exact number will likely depend on your neighboring Civs. From YouTube videos and my own experience it seems you might be able to get away with keeping your tech low after Archers/Composite Bowmen then get caught up at Gatling...
Does using a caravan to trade food between cities reduce the amount of food produced by the trading city?
Consider City A and City B
A's current food is equal to 12 food per turn. Upon trading 4 Food to B. Will A's food now equal 8?
I like playing with few cities too.
From my experience when I play with more cities I don't focus on growth as much. I tend to be happy spamming out units and focus on production.
I read this from a guide that basically suggested keeping the population below the point where you can...
Funny story.
My sister told me it was on a summer sale so I went and bought it. Paying $29.99 seemed like a good deal to me, especially with some of the steam credit I had left.
Looked today and realized my $29.99 was the regular price. =( Not quite the deal I expected. ... at least the...
I do not like the term tourism either. Tourism isn't really what drives political change its more of an economic stream.
Influence seems like a better term but I still think we are missing something.
I'm looking for a word that says, "My civilizations cultural accomplishments are how this...
Obviously a question with deep philosophic roots. ... I'll bite.
Its been told that those who seek success, fame, power or some other goal are never satisfied. Ultimately, while we take joy in all of these we are meant to be filled with something even greater. Disagree? I'll give an...
Is it so bad that tourism is only good for winning a cultural victory? The entire game is interwoven but tourism creates polarity. I haven't finished my game yet but I'm anticipating that in order to win a cultural victory I must be 'all in'. In short, achieving a cultural victory should...
Two additional helpful info:
I have BUG mod.
The CD's I own are build 3.17
Bought the game recently - was borrowing my bros CD's all these months. Didn't get my first copy until a few weeks ago.
What game has a more complex logistics system?
*Another side question: Is there a game that doesn't require micro management of individual battles? THe player should delegate the orders to a lesser general. I envision it this way:
After stacking up the units, assigning them to a...
Thank you Ori. It was a nightmare to install - I blame Vista not Civ: I digress.
After I completed manual delete I can now play BTS. However, prior to manual delete I could only play Vanilla and Colonization. And to answer your question - could not play BTS.
I would like to try an...
All three questions are not intended to be in contradiction (or over lap for that matter). All three questions are intended to get the mind to think. If in conclusion, the thinking mind draws contradictions... so be it. If overlap... so be it. Just think it through.
And this is when I...
Quoted from ZiggyStarDust - "This rather condescending notion that atheist are taking the easy way out is ridiculous."
Theist and Atheist have the greater challenge both with great burdens to bear It's the poor fellow named Agnostic who has the simpler life style.
Agnostic lives without a...
