wow... i just had a game in which i was all friendly with isabella and one -4 (for the religion thing) and she just steam-rolled me... maybe there's more to that religion thing than i thought... hee hee... sigh...
happy to see carthage and the vikings in the expansion... i voted for a native american civ, babylonians and turks... you just can't not have the babylonians and i was a bit disappointed in them not being in it to start...
yeah, togugawa is the worst of them for war but the easiest to kill off, in my opinion... i tend to kill him off before he gets samurai if i'm near him... alexander is where i usually have my problems... i tend to build up lots of units because of being near alexander alot when i started...
yeah, that does sound like a pretty good idea... especially on the terra maps where everyone starts off in the old world... but i still don't think that the colony would be strong enough to stand on its on... maybe if when it came into being a new civ it started in a golden age or something...
yeah, what he said...
but really, i loved using forts in civ1/2/3...
plus being able to build them outside of your borders would be nice (i've actually never tried, just assumed... think i'll check now so i won't seem so lazy)...
the game plays but with a bad frame rate and occasionally (not extremely often) the game crashes and a BSOD comes up... maybe it's cause i have a geforce fx 5200, but it can't be that bad a card...
i used to get all worked up about not getting the Great Person i wanted and tried to get, but then i sorta just took that element out of my strategy altogether... that's not to say i don't try to get great people, just that i tend to use them as great specialists unless i have the opportunity...
i had sorta the same thing happen with me and asoka in my last game... asoka was really close to me in everything (at one point above when he went to war with kubli kahn on his own) but the whole world hated him and he would go to war with anyone i asked for nothing and still be content with...
i didn't really see the need for Zones of Control, but the idea of putting it with fortresses is really good... i don't use fortresses at all in civ4... they just don't provide that much more to help you... ZoCs would change that... maybe if it was a promotion that you got after first strikes...
yeah, i really miss the colonies of Civ3... it just gets annoying to have to make a city so far away and pay it's maintenance costs for just one resource... not annoying enough to ruin the game but it would definitely make it better...
hi, i used to have LOADS of problems with wonder movies and graphics... but i just downgraded the drivers for my geforce fx 5200 card (to the 61.89 ones i think)... movies do get sluggish but only very late in the game... annoyingly though the intro movie is sluggish now and wasn't before...
