Welcome New Members

hello, got the game for christmas... used the site to help correct the many problems i had with it... still a great game though... thanks...

Thought I would just introduce myself to the community. I discovered civfanatics about 4 years ago, but only decided to subscribe some time later. During daytime I'm just a regular guy doing his job, almost married and enjoying life, during the evenings and sometimes nights, I try hard to rule some worlds :crazyeye:

I'm a long time civ player, started out back in the nineties with civ, and stayed a regular all through civ2, 3 and now 4. After all these years, the series still rules and is far superior imo to other comparable strategy games.

Really enjoying this site for the strategy discussions and the modding community. Keep up the great work guys!

hello all. played civ ll then lll. found this site nov'05 when looking for possibility of 4th installment. WOW! i found so many strats, made the game like new after years of play. thanks all!

now i have lV and am about to begin playing. i will be lll and lV depending on the day...

looking froward to all the knowledge you all have to offer.

Hello, I'm quite a Civ. Fanatic. I've been playing civ. since the old balxck and white Mac Version of Civ. 1. I changed to IBM format in 2003, but I played Civ. II, III ( in all its manifestations, and also the funky civ. derivatives with the spaceships war- walkers and aliens). I'm interested in Civ. III mod packs and graphics. I own Civ. 4, and I've played it, but I prefer Civ. III Conquests. :)

Hi all,....I've been playing Civ too for years. First on a Mac, then on PC with all the versions I could get my hands on. I just bought IV and have to say it looks fabulous. Depressing is that, after the introduction, the music and sound effects come in spurts and spits. I've also had some frustrating crashes when building wonders in my capital. I get this weird rainbow criss-cross pattern, the an automatic computer restart. Usually just about when I'm in the middle of an attack. I'm sure there is a better place to go with this question, but any and all feedback on how to hear the 'real' music and not crash is most enthusiastically welcome.

Great game and I'm glad you're all here!

Hello there,

Nice place to write first message. Like the majority Im another CIV fanatic. I have played CIV since the first game and continue to play till my last breath I hope.

I know this site for long time but finally I decided to play GOTM's and be the member. Hope to see some of you in PBEM.

Once again, welcome, one and all! :D

Tomislav: I edited your post to spell my name correctly. ;) It is Padma, not Padme. Padma the Outbond is a character in several books by Gordon Dickson, and he took *his* name from Padma Sambhava, a Buddhist monk of the 8th Century. The connotation I was going for was "wise old man". ;)

Padme is a silly girl in a silly movie.... :p

And if you look at the "badge" under my name, it says "CFC Moderator". We have one Administrator here, and that is Thunderfall.

Hi! I'm a CIV2 addict living in Northern Ireland. My wife bought this strange game years ago, for our son, really. Little did she think how many hours on it I would spend! Many's a time have I played right through the night till 4, 5, 6 or even 7 o'clock!

My brother bought CIV 3, but it seemed far too long and complex for my taste. Currently downloading the demo for CIV4. Hope it's good.

I call myself KINGRATTY. My wife used to call me KingRat because of my interest in the Game of DIPLOMACY, where I became Irish Champion - no kidding! Then I tried to use KingRat as a handle on another games site. It wasn't available, so I used KingRatty, a tribute to A.A. Milne's children's story with Ratty a main character.

Hi... :)

Love Civ 4, and still playing it. From what I have seen so far (mods), I think this game will no doubt keep me playing for some time to come.

Later...

Hello,

This is the first time I have ever posted anywere. I have been a fan of the Civ series, since the first one came out.

Hi Im 26 year old Canadian and man "I LOVE THIS GAME!" Ok, that sayin is played out but civ3 never will be!, at least not for me. Thanks to all the modders who built up the Civ3 legacy and added to my enjoyment tremendously. To all the  peeps who give tech support thanks be to you also. Later!

Hello fellow Civ Fanatics!

Allow me to introduce my self: Im philepic. Ive recently been hooked on to the Civilization series. Ive been playing computer games since grade school. Im almost 14 years old. I have been for a long time a lover of games like the Civ series.

Ive actually been visiting this website for a while before I became a member just to satisfy my curiousity. After I got Civ I and Civ II (the multiplayer gold edition), Ive decided to join the Civ Fanatics site. It wasnt until just a few days ago that Ive got a DVD edtion of Civ IV and Im still playing the game right now.

Hello all *waves*

I finally broke down and bough Civ IV last weekend and discovered this site a few days later. I'm a long time computer game player and played the original Civ I game at work with liberal use of the "boss" button.

I'm the strategy gamer of the house currently. My husband prefers MMORPGs and first person shooters. Looking forward to reading all the great info and tips on the site. :goodjob:
