Best Way To Defeat the Right?

One of the big ones is environmental, the Great American Outdoors Act. No surprise that NYT has a big jones for Trump. Some of those, like redrafting the rules of the Waters of America act were absolutely needed. Perhaps more to the point, under Trump the EPA was again focussed on clear air...

Best Way To Defeat the Right?

I won't speak to the other, but Trump did a very competent job of governing. No matter how messy he looked while doing it, the list of accomplishments is long and significant. I was pleasantly surprised with the results. J

Cool Pictures XIII: Artistry is Everywhere!

This isn't a drawing or painting, but it's cool. There was a flock of turkeys outside a local church this week.

Can we similar mass-measures to mitigate climate change as we've taken w Covid?

This. We are far past the point where mandates make sense. The pandemic is not over, but the need for special precautions has passed. As to climate change, it is unclear if any human action will significantly reduce global warming. Nor is any major action needed.

    Oh, the weather outside is...

Our summer ran late and autumn has lingered. This is today.

    Windows 11 free upgrade.

My wife wants to know if we should do it. The laptop is a couple of years old and the desktop is refurbished business model, so age unknown. Considerations and opinions? J

    Global warming strikes again...

It is horrendously complex. We literally do not understand the whole system in any significant way. I think there is becoming a consensus that CO2 by itself is insufficient to explain the trends. Things like cloud formation and precipitation are not even factored into the models. As for the...

    Global warming strikes again...

I see this thread and wonder what happened to Cavlancer. Last I recall, he was moving back to USA. I always wanted a pizza from his handmade oven. J

    Sad Day

The cats are taking Lady in stride while she's very mellow about them. When they come face to face there can be some hackle raising, but so far the water pistol has not been needed. J

    Sad Day

She's about 15 kilos, 35ish pounds. From her build, she can run all day, but the contraceptive surgery is slowing her down.

Pics as promised. She's a bit camera shy, at least when it's just me. In the face, she looks a lot like Jack, a few posts up.

    Sad Day

We picked up our new dog, Lady. She's a mixed breed, who appears to be part heeler, part terrier, and something with a silky coat. White with subtle red spots, except that one ear is almost fully red. The Shelter spayed her, which caused the delay. I will get pictures once we can take off the...

    Sad Day

Here is a pic of Laila lunging in the backyard. There is also a picture of Jack, a Jack Russel, our Katrina rescue dog. He was an attack survivor in 2010. He passed of natural causes in 2016.

    Sad Day

Thanks. The fur is right, but the ears are all wrong for a spaniel. We are thinking of a samoyed crossed with a smaller, short-haired breed. The tail is bobbed, so a big identifier is missing. I'll get pics when we pick her up Wednesday. J
