Playing with zombie mode, if I'm lucky the city state that lets you choose your prophet's ability is in the game (Laventa? I forget which one). I pick convert barb's. then I park the prophet until I'm about to get overrun by zombies, then I pop the prophet into the middle of a zombie cluster...
You need to use some mods, many many mods. I too had hated it at the beginning. When it first came out and I tried it for a time, I gave up in disgust. I had been with Civ since the very first game, but I had thought that whoever designed the UI and other parts of this version had never played...
One way I've been able to stop it, is before I click on the "next" button to go to the next turn, I click on each unit and cancel its future moves. It's annoying as my units don't always want to move in the next turn, just some times.
Doh!, as Homer Simpson would say. I never knew that there was a scroll bar for the Governor's screen. Not easy to see on my UI, but I found it now - Thanks a bunch!
Hey all,
In regards to unlocking Societies, I have been wanting to try out the Sanguine Order/Vampire one. The trouble is that I cannot seem to get it to work. It's not that I don't get an invitation, but because it often comes after I get another invitation - that I cannot accept them.
In...
Sometimes after I decide to restart, I'll hit the tilde key (on your keyboard to the left of number 1) and type "reveal all" to see what I would have had. This reveals everything on the map, other civs, city states, etc. I never play a map I've revealed as I have too much fun exploring the dark...
I sometimes try to get a dark age just so I can slingshot to a golden age and get the extra "picks" when the new era starts. I love it when I can pick three out of the four choices instead of the usual one. But the 0.5 instead of 1.5 loyalty does hurt for a bit.
Tell her to sacrifice the horse and get a ranged unit there pronto. Yeah, just when you think things are nice and stable - boom, a friendly AI declares on you...
I sometimes restart, and sometimes don't.
But if I really want to see things, I save my game before I set down my first city, then hit the tilde key on the keyboard (the squiggly line key just to the left of number 1 or just under the escape key), and then type in "reveal all" in the upper...
(Okay, my bad if this has been mentioned somewhere in the previous 16 pages since I haven't yet read through all of it), but since I almost never attack a CS, don't they all band together and all declare war on you if you declare war on two or more of them? Of course this may have been what is...
I'm 55. I've played Civ since Civ 1 came out back in 1992 if I am remembering that year correctly. I was married from 1994 to 2014, have two kids in their early 20's, and am now enjoying life and getting back into my hobbies I had to give up for the most part for close to 20 years. My son and...
Last night when I checked I was at 2,066 hours played. I would have had more time in, but when I first got the game I so disliked the horrible UI that I did not play the game until the month of March after the release. Then one day I figured as long as I bought it I would force myself to play...
