Even stranger, it works on my sister's iMac. Has anyone had this problem on a Macbook?

So I just got Civ 5 for my mac. It's a 2009 Macbook Pro that meets or exceeds all the minimum system requirements. My DVD drive works fine, but when I put in the installation disc in, it doesn't even load. After a long time, the folder finally showed up in the Finder, but it appears to be empty...

Wow, Crete! As someone who is part-Cretan, I'm excited to see this! But since your traits are more related to ancient Crete, why not name it the Minoans? Those was really our glory days anyway.

Yeah, whatever you think is best for the points. What do you mean starting techs? Are you giving us two beyond the normal ones? they start with bronze working and pottery, and if you're giving us two free ones, I guess I'll take ceremonial burial and the alphabet.
