    "Luck" Ruins civ's "professional" appeal.

Well, doesn't random elements always tend to even out? All you people who say you want more realism need to think a little bit. The civ 4 combat system is realistic in the macro scale which really is the only thing that matters. The combats are so simplified that you have to add...

    Political Borders vs. Cultural Borders

The political borders would be great for wars: When two civs are at war and a military unit enter a square the borders move and the square changes side until a unit of the opposing civ reoccupies the square. That would make for more realistic warfare with border defenses. After peace is...

    Which civilization is your favourite?

Mansa Musa by far, financial and spiritual are awesome traits. And, the UU is nice to keep early attackers away

Islam never seems to be a popular religion. (In civ4)

I think they should make the later religions have a greater chance of spreading on their own in cities which already have other religions.

What is the most useful Great Person?

Seems most people don't use the merchants properly. Running some merchant specialist in your GP Farm and planting the great ones ther too combined with market, grocer, bank and wall street, they allow you to run at 100% science and thus use your commerce cities properly. Before you start making...

    Scouts on Emporer

The scout could just as well have survived the attack from the barb and then moved into the square.

    economic model screwed

Actually, building wealth could be a very good thing to do, under the right circumstances. For example, if you have built bank, market and grocer the ratio hammer:gold is 1:1. You could do that to keep your science rate at 100 percent and maximise your science cities output. It gets even more...

    Salt

salt could give you extra health from seafood or perhaps cattle, just like granary gives extra health for grains

    Trenches

Yeah, whatever, but then you should be able to build trenches with workers, just like roads, but they work like rivers.

    water civ

Well, I don't wanna be the Guggvunts or whatever they're called, the ones with the giant fleet that was eaten by an earth dog

    Trenches

I've got a new idea for this. They should make it so that when you discover some tech, or possibly only when you use certain units, your borders would give a defence bonus the same way as rivers. That would reflect WW1 as the trench warfare was concentrated to close to the German-French border...
