Have you ever completed a modern era leader quest?

I haven't seen anything in the patch notes, but those are fixed now. It triggered correctly in my last game, and it also worked for older saves (I saved a couple, just before quest completion).

Is Civ VII most boring version?

I hear what you're saying, and obviously you feel how you feel. If you find it boring, then it is boring for you. I'm not trying to argue that you're wrong, I'm just providing my own perspective, since you asked an open question. And fundamentally, for me, those legacy paths are just byproducts...

Is Civ VII most boring version?

It still doesn't match the variability of VI for me, but I find VII refreshingly different from it, and - rough edges aside - very enjoyable. The level of detail each of the civs has means they feel meaningfully different to play, in a way Civ V and before didn't. But then, about 4 or 5 games...

Are any civs or leaders by themselves weak? Are some too good?

Agreed. The command radius is already one of the better final nodes (2nd best after Order, probably). It doesn't need further buffing, but a better tooltip would be welcome.

    Weak Leader/Civ combo suggestions

If this is for the AI opponents, I think there's just some leaders that are normally disruptive, and some that are easy to get along with. If I was trying to set up a SimCity type-game where they don't antagonise me, or spread all over the map, I'd go for: - Catherine. She likes to sit off in...

The bar for more Founder beliefs might be tad too high

Okay, this is silly :D Wasn't enough to unlock the last one. Anyone got some spare gameplay lying around?

    Update 1.1.1 Patch Notes - March 25, 2025

So, reading through the notes again, in the leaders and civs section there is a total of 15 nerfs (some of them massive), 7 bugfixes and 2 minor buffs (GB policy and earlier wonder for Maya). Nobody's playstyle ends up looking improved as a result, at least one unique playstyle gets absolutely...

Are any civs or leaders by themselves weak? Are some too good?

What I find utterly absurd about the specific change to towns is that they are now disincetivised from settling islands. It's not where you want the cities, and the towns there will be useless. And if you arrived at a change that pushes Majapahit away from the islands, you really need to stop...

    Update 1.1.1 Patch Notes - March 25, 2025

Yeah, that one feels like overkill. The +4 on food buildings and +2 on marine was adding up to a lot, but they should have picked one of those, not both. The food on culture is such a poor trade. Not a fan of how they did Maya change, either. 5% is right for exploration and modern, but it will...

We considered historical renaming but went for RyZanTIum instead

Not connected to this thread, apparently, but I did: https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/converting-to-city-should-update-the-settlement-name.696448/ What's more, instead of just asking for it, Lorizael rolled his sleeves up and made a mod that does just that...

Are any civs or leaders by themselves weak? Are some too good?

Shawnee is a little bugged right now, so they underperform (no culture on unique improvement), but they don't belong anywhere near F on the strength of Kispoko Nena'to alone. Cheap, strong, 3 move infantry is crazy good. I'd also move Rome & Mongolia down, Normans down, Mississippians up, Spain...

[1.1.0] Settlement range check failed when two enemy towns got razed simultanously

If anyone else runs into this - just moving a settler there didn't work, but saving, exiting to main menu and reloading has fixed the issue:

[1.1.0] Settlement range check failed when two enemy towns got razed simultanously

Run into a weird bug in the process of repaining the map brown with Tecumseh; Ben Franklin and Catherine both settled low quality cities between mine, so when I want to war, I decided to raze them both and settle on the river instead. I'm not sure on the exact sequence of events as I wasn't...

March 2025 Update Livestream - join us live on March 24!

That makes sense, thanks. I was thinking in gold terms, since that's how I'd normally obtain my factories and rail stations. Insterestingly, I think it muddies the waters further, in that both Economic and Science victory are now effectively a version of Science/Production victory, and the most...
