    Brave New Realpolitik

If possible I would like to join the game as an independent. I haven't played anything like this before so my apologies if I screw something up.

You both make fair points. I do not justify genocide, nor does my initial post I believe. My apologies to the ever reasonable and neutral Swiss people :D

It certainly will start unintentional arguments if you take two completely separate portions of a post and splice them together. If someone can explain to me the differentiation between two different european colonial powers then I will happily leave it at that and walk away with a greater...

If I could wade in here for a moment as merely a poster with no detailed knowledge of any time period in history and having only read the odd book on the various topics discussed. What it is that has the British Empire labeled as evil while other nations like France seems to get a free pass? Is...

    One mans experience

EU3 takes quite a bit of practice. Two weeks ago I bought it and found myself annexed in 10 years. Now I take a nation like the byzantines or an india minor and dominate my area. With the byzantines I've already reclaimed the eastern empire and well on my way to restoring the former roman...

Refined Poll: your standing with the game

I disliked it and stopped playing because the game runs slow for me despite my high spec pc i bought mostly for civ 5. I also don't have the same one more turn mentality i had with IV as production is longer and I don't get the same sense of expanding my nation. Diplomacy is lacking and it's...

    this game is boring

I really tried to give this game a chance, but I'm sorry Civ IV to me is the better game. In Civ V a lot of the immersion I used to be able to feel with IV has been removed, all cities are the same with little to no thought put into where I place my cities since they all turn out the same in the...

Military Advisor has given up xD

Greece probably has you so dominated in military strength that he see's no point in giving you advice.

    I give up

I'm with you. I bought a new computer to play this game. It looks great and runs fine until i hit the industrial age and then I spend a lot of time looking at my watch. I could play on lower settings but I find much of the diplomacy and challenge is removed if i do.

Civ5 actions lack "bang for the buck"

Your complaints have merit. I don't see much strength in resources any more, they are all so similar.

Me vs Monti? Am I doomed?

I just watched him lose about 6 units to just a city state with no units. That was pretty entertaining

    6 days in

You're saying Civ 5 is broken, but you play Victoria 2? LOL

    1 unit/tile overkill

now you have total control of the battle lines, archers in back cavalry on flanks. Punch a hole through the line and wipe out the archers then encircle and annihlate

What would you do in this situation?

Kill Persia, I did the same thing when they picked on my city states. It was persia too

Why do you hate me Wu?

Alexander likes to die from what I've seen. Had like 5 times the land and army and he's telling me i look like a city state. He'll wish he was one when I'm done with him
