I unzipped (extracted) the zip file into the folder.
First I tried extracting it straight into the Mods folder within "My Documents"
(these were the first directions I saw) This didn't work.
Second I tried extracting it into the Mods folder within Program Files/Sid m...
That didn't...
Are there different versions to download? (and I don't mean older versions) I downloaded 1.06 as highlighted as the current version.
Where did you install it? And what do you specifically mean by install? Didn't you just unzip into a folder? Where is that folder?
And finally was the...
I appreciate the humor in this thread. But, can someone please help me to successfully load this Civ? First these were the directions I was given. This did not work. Then I was told to unzip the file into the Mods Folder within Program files/Civ IV.
When I place it here I can see it under...
Thank you. But, what is supposed to happen after the "consequential Re-Start?" It just goes back to the main menu.
What do I do to actually start the game? I can't actually find a place to select this Civ as the one I want to play.
To clarify your on your other point, I'd like the...
What are you talking about?
back to the question at hand.
In another thread I was told that I needed to place a "Netherlands" folder in the Mod folder within the Program Files area, not "My Docs.
That worked. But now how literally load the Netherlands as a Civ to play or an AI civ. I...
First of all. Thank you very much. I am making Progress. This game makes me feel stupid sometimes. Anyway, I did what you said and YES, both Isreal and The Netherlands were listed when I went to the "Load a Mod" option. Then I clicked on Isreal and it said. " To load this Mod the game must...
 Am I supposed to create a folder within the mods sub folder?
Do I unzip the downloaded file and place all of those files into one folder called Isreal? I was just placing all of the files right into the Mod Sub folder.
Can someone please clarify?
Thank you.
Here is my post from the "Netherlands" New Civ thread. I can not get it to work.
Can anyone help? These are the steps I took.

Can someone please help.
Over in the Customization thread there are many new Civs to download. I followed the directions stated in the thread and can not see the new CIV listed in the "Load a Mod" window. I'll write the steps I have taken below.
Can someone please let me...
I just tried this without any luck.
Here's what I've done. Let me know what I'm doing wring.
1) I downloaded version 1.06 to my desk top. (the Zip file icon is there)
2) I open a window for My Docs/My Games/CivIV/Mods
3) I open the zip file
4) I select all files and drag into the open...
Please be kind, I have not downloaded before.
I downloaded the file. I "unzipped" and copied the files into this folder as directed.
When I do this it states that two files have the same name and forces me ot overwrite or not. What should I do?
When I go to Advanced I do not see the...
This is the best item I've ever read on this site.
I thank you Sulla.
You made it look too easy.
I see the link to the Cuban walkthrough. Any others folks can recommend?

With this in mind (I do not want to hijack the thread) How many turns are people willing to wait to build on this "perfect" starting location?
I have to admit that I'm ususally too concerned about building it quickly (within 2 turns) to look for the perfect spot. I may be very wrong.
