Kill a Barbarian, get some gold.

It's a real simple idea, really. I, like many of you, play w/raging barbarians. And while it is nice that they help my units gain XP, they can still be a real nuisance sometimes. I've got to have nearly 3 units patrolling outside my cities otherwise I'll suffer from pillaging. (I know I can turn...

    Opening Slideshow Song/Singer?

The song I'm referring to has vocals, about "let me fall...." etc. Is that definitely Xerxes Tent? It doesn't sound the same on iTunes.

Kuriotates Early Game Strategy - Centaur Rush!

Yes promoted hunters fortified in a city are the banes of centaurs, but I can at least refer you to the thread in the other forum regarding hunters and the argument that they shouldn't be as effective at city defense as they are (they should be out of the city, hunting). Perhaps this will be...

Altar of Lu nerfed - why?

I play Kuriotates and found OO every game I can - leads to Mind Stapling which grants Slavery civic.

Kuriotates Early Game Strategy - Centaur Rush!

This thread will attempt to provide strategy suggestions for Kuriotates in the early game. It is my opinion that this strategy should set Kuriotates up as a strong military civ in the beginning with an opportunity to switch to a builder/culture civ by turn 100. Here goes: So you want to play...

Altar of Lu nerfed - why?

It's a shame that due to 1 (or 2) civs being able to misuse a game feature it gets nerfed for everyone. It also really decreases the altar's usefulness if you just want it in the game but don't have the AoL victory condition. Now it's kind of a why bother?

Altar of Lu nerfed - why?

Really the title says it all. I don't get why. Thoughts?

    Kuriotates and Cities

So I have an idea - perhaps Kuriotates could have a 3 city limit (or # approp. to map size) with the exception being that if they capture another civ's *original* capital (ie., their 1st city, presumably their true "hub") it would stay a city vs. shrinking quickly down a settlement. I just...

    Counter to Centaur Rush?

So I'm loving learning to play Kuriotates (particularly since I love the sprawling trait) and have discovered that a centaur rush is a logical, highly effective early game tactic...especially if I get horseback riding from a village (rare, but awesome). So I was wondering, what if I was going up...

2 Noob Q's: Gypsy Wags and Gen. Strat. Guide?

Thanks y'all. I'm pretty familiar w/Civ 4 strategy I'm just having trouble figuring out how to best implement magic and I am finding out how effective the Balseraphs UUs are. This game seriously rocks, and when I love a new game I immerse myself in it so the more info. I can round up the better...

2 Noob Q's: Gypsy Wags and Gen. Strat. Guide?

So I just joined the FF2 bandwagon and after quick a break it has resurrected my lov for all things Civ. Of course I do have some questions though. First, I love the Balseraphs mainly because I find having a high culture to be so valuable. So I built some gypsy wagons, send them off to...
