Potentially stupid question incoming with my apologies: In the worldbuilder scenario editor, to make opponent civs more difficult (that is, better vs. me, to improve them) do I set their handicap towards Chieftain or towards Diety? Thank you in advance for your patience. :)

Aha! Thank you for your patient answer! And when I loaded the map I got a comical answer to how poorly I did... why are there settlers from all the minor states around me? haha, boy, it's late and I'm an idiot... Thanks again.

Yes, similar thoughts and disappointment. But Civ IV got better with the mods and all the BTS content, so I'm hoping Civ V will improve as well. But I've shelved it until then. They've got my $50 so I'm sure it's no big deal, but I'll go back to other games til' this one feels less like work...

Agreed. It's okay, I don't hate it. It's not the end of gaming or anything. Some promise. I think some things are improvements over Civ IV. Still, there seems to be more work than joy in playing it right now. So, I think I'll put it aside until some of the fine tuning/worldbuilder/tuner come...
