Have to say I do agree with the original poster in that the game now is not what it was, and I'm not sure it's for the best.
After not having played the game for quite some time now due to other commitments, I suddenly realised that I hadnt missed it and having read some of the comment on...
Must admit that I have created a mod for my own use, which basically is just SQL statements to update the Civ database to add a few English-based units (Bowman, Redcoat) using existing graphics, but what I have spent some time looking for is a map - either world or just Europe - which starts the...
Just a thought - but are the saves you are trying to delete Autosaves of the game ? It's something I have disabled as with a game like Civ the amount of saving that would be done would slow the game down considerably in the latter stages !
As Alan has pointed out, you can delete any saves...
Posts moved from a thread about installing mods on a Mac. This is a different topic.
Must admit I've been looking at trying to get my own simple mods working using ModBuddy on my Bootcamp Windows 7 system. Trouble is there is no official documentation on it, and that which does exist on here...
How about those of us with the 'normal' (non-App Store) version of the game ? I have upgraded to Lion, and have the latest update of the game applied ... but apart from the MODS option there is no sign of any change regarding downloadable content - or am I missing something here, as I thought...
Read some comments in the main Civ V forums and the Windows people don't seem to be over the moon with the new patch as the AI seems to act in quite strange ways - especially with regard to declaring war at the higher levels of the game.
Not that I'm worried as I'm happily ploughing my way...
Sorry I'm a bit late replying, but I have a 27-inch 3.2 GHz i3 which runs the game well both native and under Windows 7 running BootCamp. As others have mentioned above, the new machines run things OK especially with the latest patch - and don't forget, you get the Windows version free if you...
Just out of interest, I also downloaded this as I usually play as the English, but have yet to find a map which will actually place London where it should be ! The only map I ever found that worked correctly was a Civ IV one called Eurobohemus ... which doesn't seem to have made it to Civ V...
Anyway - restarted and it hasn't happened again ... yet !
Still trying to get my head round the new 'Embark' command - playing as the English gives you a lot of scope for settling other islands due to the bonus moves; the only use now for a Trireme is as an escort. Do miss the Civ IV...
iMac 3.2GHz i3 with 8GB RAM and the Radeon 5670 - no problems so far having played a fair few times since Christmas. One thing I did do was to disable the autosaves having read some horror stories on here !
