    Normal Deity Games

Victoria please correct me if wrong. I would like to summarize what needs to be done in Civ 6 GS against Deity (or even Emperor onward) on continents or Pangaea on standard: - forget Religion as it's too many wasted turns chasing GP and a "wasted" early district (can there be a downside to...

    [GS] Adjacency question

Ah ha! So a line of 3 works for the middle one. But a triangle would work better, and have some sort of multiplier. I am guessing a diamond of four would be optimal and insane?

    [GS] Adjacency question

Nope... I bought the tile on blue star and it still does not give me campus adjacency bonus, only the river bonus. The tooltip did update to show the adjacency arrow, but it does not give me the +1 gold that it gives to red star.

    [GS] Adjacency question

Hmm thanks... and another question if I may? I believe the benefit of the commercial district is shared with cities 6 tiles away (I got that from other forums) - but what is the benefit to the shared cities? 50%?

    [GS] Adjacency question

Civ6 by sandman_civ posted Feb 26, 2019 at 8:54 PM Hi I am new to civ6 and confused about adjacency. I am about to build a commercial district. A campus is on green star. When I hover over red star it tells me it's adjacent to campus, but blue star is not. Why is blue star not? I would...

    Difficulty levels question

The problem is "build up for centuries" - build for this long and you give the AI a chance to build for long as well. Attack them in phases. Attack them with swordsmen when they have archers! Attack them again with catapults and whatever when they have longbowmen! Etc. It's not the number of...

    Going up a difficulty level?

The right time to move is when your current level is becoming too easy and you are winning by a large margin every time. No fun in having tanks while your opponents languish with crossbows eh. The jump to monarch is not as large as the jump to emperor in my opinion. It also depends if you want a...

    Curing Quayle-ism?

Hey chaosklima it seems to me you're looking too much into theory. You can't apply every theory to every game. Adopt a single strategy and apply your own style to master this strategy. Don't ignore the basics - such as each city should be able to pay for its own upkeep, and each city's tiles...

    Cats kill culture?

Hmm I guess it's initially all the cultural buildings, then random buildings every subsequent takeover. But it's not the bombard certainly, you can always use the world builder to check these things.

    Cats kill culture?

Buildings (cultural) are only destroyed when you take over the city.

    What am I doing wrong???

Civ4 rewards careful planning towards empire building, not just mindless settlers settling on every square, or even worse, the civ2 caravan mechanic where all of your cities produced caravans to get to mike's chapel first. Also, I applaud the designers in keeping the fun elements, and taking...

How does the units defending in Civ4 follow?

Sometimes this "best defender" is your elite unit you don't want to use to defend, or your medic, so make sure you take these out of your defensive stack.

W - From Sea to Shining Sea

Rapid Expansion (REX) will scale thru to emperor in my experience. Not sure about the axemen, axemen you need for barbs and defence, prefer swords+city raider to take over early cities, then offensive units and catapults. Catapults galore. With REX there should be little problem finding iron...
