    ---Alienware---

I'd take a queue in their repair department as a hint at how shoddy their work is ;) Like I said before, different standards. When one of my SGI machines break down, a tech is on-site the next day to diagnose and repair them - spare parts in hand. Sadly (or not?), none of my IBM machines...

What Programming Languages Do You Know?

Gah! VAX's give me a rash :p I hate those with all my heart :) My languages: FORTRAN ADA C/C++ VBA VB SQL PHP C-shells (mostly tcsh) Java (enough to get into trouble) C# (enough to get into trouble) I came close to having to learn SIMScript - but managed to weasel my way out...

    ---Alienware---

Go back and read post #48 closely and then rethink that question.

    ---Alienware---

If you think two weeks is acceptable for getting something fixed that shouldn't have gone bad in the first place, maybe you are right. I feel that the components I paid top dollar for shouldn't fail within weeks of delivery. I also feel that if I paid extra for next-day onsite repair, the...

    ---Alienware---

I have two Alienware laptops (that I purchased for work, through work - high-end requirements), I would never recommend Alienware to anybody. They were expensive and definately not worth the money. The customer service is miserable, they shipped wrong products and what I did get was incredibly...

Why is this game so highly rated? 'myrantings'

So you'd rather micromanage the crap out of everything than to play the game? Thats what I feel Civ 3 is, Civ 4 gives me an opportunity to actually play. If I wanted to micromanage crap instead of having fun, I'd work on getting promoted to middle management at work.

    Class action lawsuit

Like I said before, read the facts of the case, not what the popular media is feeding people. There was a lot to the case that wasn't reported in the news because it wouldn't have grabbed headlines.

Why can't I enjoy the Civ series? *please help*

Part of the reason is that FPS tend to be extremely superficial. Once you find the ammo/power ups/camp spots, there is very little strategy, it is all dependant on your reflexes rather than your brain power. Civ is amazingly complex, and no one strategy is guaranteed to work every time...

    Class action lawsuit

Research those lawsuits before you use them as an example of what you are trying to accomplish. What you hear in the popular media isn't always the full story.

    Shame on Gamespot and IGN!!

Alienware sucks ass. Their workmanship is just shoddy, as is their preconfigured systems. You can't buy anything from them and expect it to work. That said, it runs fine on my Alienware laptop - but I uninstalled it and put it on my desktop (non-Alienware) instead. Just don't assume that...

Love the new ideas but all the time it is up and down and left and right I feel sick

One thing I did was turned off 'show friendly and enemy moves', or something similar to that. Way too much bouncing around the map with that option not turned off.

    Class action lawsuit

Games (and a lot of non-game applications any more) come in paper sleeves, it is because they are more economical. Its been that way for years. I have a bunch of slimline jewel cases that I put the disks in after I get done installing. Software has been coming with PDFs as manuals for a...

    Class action lawsuit

Define most and how you got that information. My guess is you are making it up to fit your argument. 'All the crappy packaging' consisted of a few shipments which were corrected as soon as they were found, and not repeated.

    Class action lawsuit

Everyday I seem a display of idiocy that I believe can't ever be beaten. Everyday, somebody comes along and proves me wrong. Thank you for being today's example.
