It's amazing how little infrastructure you used in that game, elitetroops. What exactly do you do with your hammers throughout the early/mid game while you're teching toward cuirassiers, build research/wealth?
I think the poster is supposed to cover both Civ and XCOM: Enemy Unknown. So basically once you're done with conquering the world in Civ start playing XCOM and "take on the galaxy."
That's my interpretation at least.
I get the impression that darker is less severe than the bright colored ones. Things like "You declared war on a civ you had a declaration of friendship with" are bright red, and I'd think that's one of the worst things you can do in the game.
Yeah that's kind of crucial knowledge that you would expect a world leader to have while negotiating with some one. I misread your other post; I thought you were asking if there was a way to see this information in general.
In the Diplo Screen there's a Global Politics tab I think it's called that gives you a bit of info about how each civ feels about the other. It just tells you about denunciation and declarations of friendship, so it's not as good as civ 4's grid thing, but it's better than nothing...
The idea of religious unrest would only work if you can select a state religion à la civ4. I'd kind of assume there must be some way to do this, but I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere. Everything has been focused on founding and developing your civ's religion. If you don't found one it...
I picked that it needs to be reworked. I assumed that option just meant a few large tweaks and a few minor tweaks. It doesn't need to be rebuilt from scratch or anything, and it's so much better than it was at launch that I feel that a few small changes will make a world of difference.
I...
That's not really your fault. Civ5 defaults F12 to quickload if I remember correctly. Most games don't use F12, so Steam has that set up as the screenshot key by default. Civ however uses quite a few F# keys to open various windows.
It's just a case of two programs operating with...
I probably would have preferred a non-European civ, but all things considered Sweden is a pretty good choice. They fit the reformation scenario, and they haven't been in a Civ game before (we've had scandinavians and vikings, but not Sweden of the 17th c). Hopefully they're fun to play.
It's kind of sad. Every single picture starts with about 5 people saying they think it's the Dutch. I get that not everyone is totally obsessed with knowing everything about this expansion before it's released, but still is it that hard to know which civs have already been announced?
They definitely need to implement a way to save your favorite advanced settings. The one time I played a One City Challenge was because I misclicked it when I was aiming for Quick Combat.
Also does anyone use the standard "Set Up Game" option? I always find that I need to go into the...
From the tooltip in anandus' screenshot (post 509), the battering ram has no ranged strength. I'd assume that means it can't set up and it can't attack from range like other siege weapons. It seems like just a normal melee unit with some bonus when attacking cities.
I think it will...
The game is balanced for normal speed. I'm kind of worried that the gaps are too small considering they've added so many units to the game. Of course the tech tree has been reworked so there's really no way to know how it plays out until the expansion is actually released.
I played civ4 on...
