Q&A with Dennis Shirk

Looks pretty Italian to me, that mediterranean coastal setup and renaissance hat and scepter, Portugal or Italy is my bet, can't really think of anything else.

Edit: Timur could be actually likely too, that water could actually be just pond, fountain or such...

Buildings look rather Islamic, with their octagonal columns and the wavey nooks in the background. The feathered turban shape seems to resemble old painting of Moors, so I'm inclined to think that it's Northern African/Middle Eastern.

New leader.
Seems renaissance European to me, my guess is Portugal or Italy.

Can it be a Doge of Venice? Their UB could be producing the luxury ressource Venetian Glass?

Here's a bigger image of the poster, which Dennis kept hinting at containing a clue (the buildings on the left side specifically)

Also, hi everyone it's been a while :)

XCOM units weren't enough, 3 of the remaining leaders are XCOM characters now as well :D <--sarcasm

Tons of great info today. It officially killed my ability to play GnK though.

Hey welcome back Greg!

According to the Facebook page, it's a "dynasty characterized by tragedy and madness".

So the very obvious possibilities are Protugal, Italy and Morocco.
I can't make out whether there is a cross at the top of the sceptre, which would mean he is Christian.

I googled Portuguese Castles and found this. You'll note that the architecture style is quite similar. Of course, the same architecture style might have been used in 500 or so other castles in Europe. But at least it's something.

The architecture in that picture is very convincing. Damn. Not that I don't want Portugal to be in, but I was hoping we'd get Henry!

They created this phrase just because the xcom unit or we will see more futuristic stuff?

I think the poster is supposed to cover both Civ and XCOM: Enemy Unknown. So basically once you're done with conquering the world in Civ start playing XCOM and "take on the galaxy."

That's my interpretation at least.

Tragedy is not saying much, but madness is a good clue.
Let's think of famous dynasties in warm climate area:
Timurids?
Medici?
Borgia?
Aviz?

Chat said he mightt be Prithvi Narayan Shah of Nepal.
The shadow is matched but scepter

Ah yes, I should have recognized the famed Nepalese coastline in the background.
