Looks like great work!
You seem to have really made the very best out of my original scenario. ;)
However, I'll unfortunately not be able to check your version out during the next weeks, because I've changed my apartment and don't have neither a broadband connection nor flatrate yet, so...
Thank you. I'm glad to hear that. :)
I guess I think about scenarios the way you do - I don't care that much for extra units, techs and graphics. They may be nice, but the original game is good enough for a historical scenario. ;)
That's a good idea indeed.
I've almost completed an...
Well of course there were still new towns being founded after 1900 - ie in America, Russia, etc. Also, there are practical reasons against banning all settlers from the scenario: The Civs often raze cities, and it would be ugly if these empty places could not be resettled. ;)
Yes that's it, I've tried to find a balance between accuracy and playability.
But thanks for your ideas, I'll have a look at it and think about it regarding the next version.
I think a game like that can never be entirely accurate - it's just too limited in general. So I won't make a...
It takes about 5 minutes to initialize on my 1.8 GHz/512 MB RAM.
So I really don't expect it to take much longer on your computer, and I would take every bet it won't take more than 15 minutes.
Oh, and btw: I'm going to do another update of the scenario, Version 2.1.
It will not be possible to settle on tundra and desert, which prevents the civs from settling all over Siberia and the Sahara, that was quite unrealistic. Also there are some other minor changes like city names, there...
Thanks for the appreciation. :)
Yes, that's what I like about it - surprisingly, a lot of historical accuracy is going to happen. Probably that's because the mentality and actions of the imperial powers of that time were quite similar to the nature of the Civ game. ;)
No problem! But...
Votre_chevalier, I'm sorry to hear about that problem. But as you are the only person so far reporting it, I assume it is a problem at your system only. I have also played the scenario for several times on the side of each civ, and I have not experienced it.
And sorry to all others who may...
I'm fine with your first posting. ;)
So I need the help of all of you:
Could you please give me information where there were proxy conflicts between the West and the East around 1960?
I'm going to research for myself, but maybe it's faster when you help me.
