    Q: Correct use of Cho-Ko-Nus

It's the 50% against melee that's my problem. The AI always uses Longbowmen etc. for defense. However, good point on the cover. I thought giving them more first strikes would make them better, so I gave them Drill 1 + 2. I guess Strength and Cover is the much better upgrade path. So, Cho-ko-nus...

    Q: Correct use of Cho-Ko-Nus

You are right, that is my problem. I never normally use cross bows! :)

    Q: Correct use of Cho-Ko-Nus

Never played with the chinese before, so I wanted to give them a shot - trying out the Cho-Ko-Nus. So, I ran into the first problem - while they "replace" siege units, they really don't. W/o bombarding, you don't do much damage at all, even if you give them extra first strikes. By the time...

1.61 - Cannot see the unit strength during battle animation

DOH! I rather liked seeing it immediately. I don't need no suspense. :) I guess turning on the quick animations is the way to go now.

    v. 1.61 Bug Report!

During battle, I do not see the strengths of the unit anymore while the battle animation is running. Anyone else have that problem? Edit: Ok, I see now that it was intentional. Too bad.

1.61 - Cannot see the unit strength during battle animation

Does anyone else have this problem? When I do battle after upgrading, I do not see the unit strength anymore during the battle, so I have to click on the unit when my turn starts again to see how strong the unit still is. Is this intended? A problem with graphics - I have an X800 Radeon Pro...

    What to do in mid-game?

When I see that I have only one other Civ on my continent, it's time to beeline to optics, especially with Caesar. I usually don't kill off more than two enemies with Caesar's pretorians, that should give you enough of a tech advantage already.

    Do you reload when fighting?

I only reload when a very stupid mistake means losing a good game. Instead of forfeiting the game, I give myself a "2nd chance". I learnt from it, so I feel it's no harm done.

Need to improve my game (going to Noble)

Oddly enough, they did build Stonehenge very quickly this time - before I had Mysticisms, if I remember correctly. Then again of course I got mysticism way late. With religion I meant getting a Monastery or a Temple for some quick culture. It's an interesting idea about the surgical strikes...

Need to improve my game (going to Noble)

I guess that's the way to go then. For some reason I thought it would be best to skip mysticism when not founding a religion, but it makes no sense. Again, thanks everyone. That should improve my game.

Need to improve my game (going to Noble)

Thanks, all very good points. Some answers: No idea what possessed me with the Obelisk. I think at that point I was desparate for culture, but yeah, did not need it in capital. I built the libraries for the culture, as I did not have a religion when I built them. The horse archers were going...

    Worst odds you ever won/lost?

I almost feel sometimes that you are more likely to lose with high chances at higher difficulty levels, but that is probably just my imagination.

Need to improve my game (going to Noble)

Long time lurker, first time poster. Moving up to Warlord so far has been going without a hitch, but Noble is giving me some head ache. Most likely I am not doing a few things correctly, so I would like to get some advice. I usually play with random leaders, so I may not be using them to the...
