    Culture/Social Policy Questions

I can't see it ever being worth it to be honest. Rationalism isn't all that great for cultural games anyway, while Piety is pretty sweet. Use that culture for something more worthwhile.

Hello and a Question about Wonders

It's always a pain, especially because you know that you where probably pushing your luck going for it in the first place. All those very useful buildings you could have built. If it was a vital wonder you were counting on, like Petra with a desert capital or something, even worse.

Most annoying UAs to deal with

Austria can be annoying, but in one game where I was on good terms with them the whole time they ended up buying the city states around me, it was annoying until I noticed they were happy to let me sit there and research my way to spaceship victory while they kept my enemies at bay. There was...

    Viking strategies

On Prince you should be able to get GL, which would be really good for a water heavy map with anybody, really. Apart from that, get to your berserkers and kill whoever was unlucky enough to start near you. EDIT: meant the great lighthouse, not the great library, just to clarify.

ICS with arabia. will it work ??!

For ICS I like liberty over tradition, tradition is more for growing larger cities, which isn't always all that helpful when going ICS, happiness and all that.

    Philosophy of Sids 'Civilization'

Historical accuracy is a somewhat loose concept in this case, as has been pointed out in regards to the French Musketeer. Of course it would definitely not be racism, as the civilizations are not all race specific, nor is there any kind of intention to discount or ridicule or harm specific races...

    Philosophy of Sids 'Civilization'

The argument that the concept of civilization is an inherently Western one has been brought up a few times left and right on the forums, I believe. I find it quite interesting and I do have some thoughts. I would like to start by agreeing that a lot of the buildings and technologies have a...

    Best deal for the DLC?

I decided to download the DLC some time ago, well before the Steam Summer Sale. I had recently rediscovered CiV (games come and go in cycles for me, it seems). There must have been some kind of sale on at Steam that alerted me to a quite reasonable price for the DLC at the time. But then I...

Choosing Harald Bluetooth as a Danish leader=********

As far as I'm aware Denmark is a part of Scandinavia as much as both Norway and Sweden, while Finland isn't technically but is sometimes put in the same bracket for historical reasons. Same as Iceland, although I think they at least speak a similar language. And while you are correct that a...

So Mount Sinai is not a mountain

It is, I was able to built Petra once when I put a city right next to Mt Sinai (I was Spain that time, it was ridiculous, had my religion enhanced before any other was founded, think only a few Pantheons were even founded). I didn't have any other desert next to the city.

So Mount Sinai is not a mountain

Yeah but when you start randomly and you can see quickly that you're in what would be Scandinavia, for the Europe map, you're ability is practically useless.

    Carthage question . . .

Yeah that's a good way to go as well, but I think it depends on location a lot, if you start with say 3 sea resources, the god of sea pays off much sooner.

Machine guns to mech infantry seriouly?!

I wouldn't like them upgrading to rocket artillery, I like my artillery chain separate from the ranged chain. The Paratrooper idea I like.

A deal where you paid ..... gold per turn has come to an end ?

While I think it's fair game to back-stab like that, it should be registered as just that, giving you an extra diplomacy modifier or something.

Machine guns to mech infantry seriouly?!

Also, espionage feels like it's testing the waters a bit. On topic: I think the helicopter idea isn't a bad one, but I feel it's right that the helicopter would be a totally new unit. I have two ideas that might be cool. 1: A sort of special infantry unit, ranger or something, that...
