Well I think CiV is crap but I got to say i laught, oh how i laught! My opinion of him just went up a great bit. I think he will fit in with great at Stardock. Now back to good old EU3.

How is it not backtracking though? The whole point of the new diplomacy was to be "mysterious" and not just +9 or -3. So what they gave us was blind diplomacy. That is the point. Now they are changing it to be more like the old one. I´m not saying i wouldn´t want a more flexible diplomacy...

Totally agree, no need for a +/- system but going to a more or less blind dimplomacy is just overkill, unfortunetly not uncommon imho in Civ V. And I am happy, don´t get me wrong, I just wish they didn´t need to work so hard:p

What is unclear? I am saying two points the "defenders" (I am thinking of another word but why bother) furiously defended as being part of the new way of playing, the new civ, are not WAD or not even intended. I go on and claim that SP imho will likely undergo a similar change...

My favorite thing about Civ is all the stuff before industrialism. It´s probably the historybuff and nostalgic in me but hey :D I remember a mod for CTP or maybe CTP2 called "Cradle of Civilization" or something like that. It basicly made the whole game about the pre-industry era and it was...

This. And I how is it that not this thread is about that? Even if I personally hate the new style I can get used to it and it´s not a make or break for me. However... With the state of the AI today they would probably need some kind of stargate or portal to make a real naval...

Just have to say I don´t agree. Complicated is not the same as overwhelming and imho SimCity 4 is clearly the best of the lot. Hell, I am still waiting for a real sequal. Civ IV being overcomplicated? Not for my taste. The problem is that the gamecompanies, well all companies, want it...

I don´t think people expected the AI to be the best ever (well, some prolly did) or to be able to manage without bonus to the AI or penalties to the player at the higher levels. Few (none?) games are able to do that. I think the point is that the AI is clearly subpar and that we expected and...
