Surely the "Aristocrats" are even less believable than "Artists"(although I like the idea of sending a colony whose members focus on preserving and developing human culture, even if that's impractical).
Aristocrats in the 27th century? Who somehow promote trade and wealth? Really?
I see the ARC as more like a cyberpunk mega-corporation gone very Orwellian. Neo-feudal capitalist police state. The all-seeing eye symbol is the icing on the cake. I can see myself being very evil when I play as them. :smoke:
Scramble for Africa, no doubt about it. The geograhpically-narrow and military focus of the ACW does not interest me much.
There are only two new scenarios. Your thread title should be "Which scenario are you MORE excited about?".
Hmm. I have not played G&K yet, but I've been reading people's experiences of it. I think this decline of religious importance towards the late game sounds neither fun nor realistic.
You are left with lots of fairly useless faith points which only seem to be good for buying Great People...

Aargh. I missed the stream and can't re-watch it for some reason. Might be because I'm using the internet in China, which is a pain at the best of times.
@Nokmirt: living in China is good and bad, like anywhere else. I live in the centre of the country, so it's poorer and less developed (but...

It's also good that you can't spam the map with spy units. Each civ only gets a limited number of spies - far less than the number of cities on the map - meaning that the player must be much more careful and tactical when deciding what to do with them. It's a superior system. But hey... haters...
I would like to second your "woohoo", Calouste. Those particular city-state quests always reminded me of the "kill this bad guy" quests you're offered in some dingy pub in an RPG, they seemed unsuited to a Civ game.
