Absolutely. When I came out of grad school I had a couple of consulting projects that were school work, but they were legit projects that I managed. I turned those into valuable experience on my CV. It's all about how you sell yourself, other than who you know.

Listing examples of accomplishments on your CV is good. For example, if you led a project that resulted in 10% savings to the company, then add that and be prepared to talk to it. Focus on accomplishments more than just listing responsibilities.

It's going to be a long and difficult road to get back to a state of normalcy. We won't truly return to normalcy until a vaccine is mass produced, which isn't likely to happen until 2021. The poor are unfortunately going to be impacted severely due to a lack of a proper social safety net in the US.

There are many reasons for Republicans having the south and midwest. One reason, I believe is because Republicans have become the "religious right" and they have painted liberals as being godless atheists. Which is a statement that I completely disagree with.
