From what you describe it sounds like your computer is overheating. Is your laptop getting really hot? You can check in event viewer to see if this is what's happening. Civ5 and BE use a good deal of processing power and can lead to overheating.
Iroquois for me. I don't think I've ever completed a game with them. It's hard to parlay their bonuses into anything coherent other than an early swordsman spam, which is hardly the most effective way to warmonger. So they start of lackluster, and get progressively worse over time. Virtually...
The problem is the cards listed in their minimum specs are cards that don't fully support DirectX 11. As a result you have a number of people buying the game based upon a misleading if not outright wrong game specifications. Add to that, it seems like there's no reason in principle that they...
So, does anyone have any solution or ideas for this? It's a pretty major issue and makes the game more or less unplayable, and judging from the Steam thread it's affecting a fair number of people. My computer plays Civ 5 just fine, so it's odd that all these problems have come up given that...
I'm also getting problems with the minimap (among other things). Are your leader screens static? Did the red ring to show where you can place your initial city not show up? If so, you may be having the same problems I'm having. Are you also running it on a laptop with an Nvidia GPU?
I...
Well, after updating the driver again I fiddled around with the graphics settings for the past hour and it didn't seem to have any effect, unfortunately. Thanks for tying though, it honestly didn't occur to me to try raising the graphics settings since I was already on minimum.
From what I read on the steam forum here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/65980/discussions/0/619569341084978180/. The cards listed on the minimum specs don't support DirectX 11 either; theoretically as long as the card can support 10.1, it should work.
At any rate, overheating isn't the...
Hi all. I have a couple problems that have shown up. The game performs fine, and initially looked fine with the exception of the minimap, which was totally unreadable. In addition the red ring that's supposed to tell you where you can place your city was absent. Nevertheless I continued to...
I was trying out the production virtue tree, and the alternative market virtue is pretty easy to reach, and can make station trade routes viable. 18 energy per trade route on top of the station yields is nothing to sneeze at, especially early on.
Your cap is way too small for that point in the game. That's probably the main thing hindering you, as it really stunts your science. Try to focus more on growth in the early game, use some internal trade routes, make those hills along the river farms instead.
You're might have have...
If I'm not doing domination, my main motivation for taking an AI capital is juicy wonders. I was playing one game recently where Egypt was right next to me. I was going for a culture victory, but he had just... so many wonders, including both Colossus and Petra as well as Leaning Tower. It...
I'm playing a Venice game on Immortal right now as well. I originally intended to do a diplomatic/cultural game, but I lost some key culture wonders, but found myself with Alhambra and Brandenburg Gate, so I started doing a mid-late game domination. It's quite fun. I lucked out early on with...
