How are people feeling about the direction the devs have taken with Civ6, now that the "new frontier" pass has been going for a while?
I myself was sceptic at first. It seemed like what the devs were going for is to a very large extend window dressing (alternative leaders, and game modes)...
Question: this game worth another go for a civ fan? Got a few hours of play time in with beyond earth short after release, i really liked it. But then i never went back and it got quite a bit of bad press.. Now I'm a bit tiered of civ 6 and thought to give this one another whirl. But it's still...
I attack a CS if:
1) My Civ spawns close to one
2) There is no other CIV close by
3) It does not have a bonus I want
I don't like the world wide grievances given by attacking CS so I tend to do it early on, and I don't necessarily take the city. The prime objective is to get my troops...
Yes, me too, and Banished as well, which imho should be credited with the idea. I've been hoping the civ devs would add a killer winter mechanic/scenario at some point...
"Winter is Coming" would be a great mode to play. Just a big fat winter creeping up over time, turning the north and southside of the map into tundra, snow and ice until only a thin strip of fertile land is left along the equator of the map.
Extra resources should be spawned in the north/south...
I'd like to see Willhelmina's Radio Oranje buffed by quite a bit, +1 Loyalty is just useless, I never get to use it. I'd say it needs to be at least +5 or even equivalent to a Governer's +8 to have any value.
The culture bonus should scale with origin city's culture yield or districts, or grow...
Yes, he made a video
Ep. 1 - Civ 6 Tutorial for completely new players - Scythia
His reasoning is that the "default game setup" is the one that has enjoyed the most testing/balancing and new players should thus not mess around with the settings too much on their first few play-throughs
