I'm pretty sure you're below minimum system requirements.
If you're running windows 7 32 bit that tells me that your processor isn't a dual core. According to the steam store front you need a dual core processor in order to run the game (the minimum system requirements say " Intel Core 2 Duo...
Seeing all the facts about polynesia now really makes them interesting.
They seem like the aztecs on water, meaning you can play them very aggressively and also amass a bunch of culture.
I'm playing a game against them now just to see how kamehameha's AI acts. From the game I'm playing, he...
Hey MadDjinn I have a challenge for you.
Your challenge (if you choose to accept it, I'm fine if you don't) is to beat the game as polynesia on a tiny archipeligo map going for cultural victory.
This challenge is mainly to test a couple of theories about the new patch and the new dlc.
#1...
Apparently every gaming news outlet has been butchering this announcement to hell. From what I can tell from the Destructoid article, the moai statues are only wonders in the scenario, while they're the unique building/improvement in the main game.
Hopefully that makes a bit more sense.
The thing I find funny about all this is that people wanted a new seafearing civilization to compete with england badly, and when they get it they complain because it's a civ that hasn't been in the games before.
Now would I have liked to see the vikings or the zulus in before the polynesians...
Thanks so much for all the advice!
As for why I was building a temple in Abydos instead of a harbor, I was worried about getting culture flipped and figured that the temple would be higher priority than the harbor.
By the governer being turned on I'm assuming you mean that I told the game to...
I was trying to go for cultural victory.
As I think you can see in the save, I was trying to use thebes to go for a 20k cultural victory, but it looks like thebes won't be able to amass that much culture anytime soon.
So what I'm wondering now is if taking out london would put me in the...
Hi I'm a relatively new C3C player and this is the first game I've been at least somewhat successful with on regent.
The problem is, I still think I'm going to lose with the ottomans looking like they're going to close in on space race, and my plans for a cultural victory being implemented...
2 things:
#1 Do you think that you wouldn't be able to get the same impact in terms of happiness if you weren't on a huge map?
#2 How much of an effect do you think overpopulation had? If it was significant should firaxis think about giving india more unhappiness from the number of cities?
The one OCC India game I played I never went into unhappiness. This was with out any happiness buildings as well.
All this really translates to is India having more excess happiness than before. It may make mandate of heaven OCC India overpowered but the patch is not out yet so that's all...
I sorta took out askia with a warrior rush on emperor with the incans.
Now to be fair, I did have two incan archers bombard his cities and I also had one spearman, but I still took him out very early in the game with out iron.
But as far as basic rushing strategies are concerned, I'll...
I think these ideas would be great for Total War, a Master of Orion spin off, or a new series entirely but I don't think it's good for Civ.
I think Civ is very much a macro based game, and by that I mean it's a game where the appeal comes from managing your empire and seeing your civilization...
What I find interesting in this graph are the victory numbers. It just seems strange to me that only a few AIs are competitive and will try to win, while the rest will just be content to sit there.
I don't know if this is new to civ (obviously I'm a very new civ player, look at my post count)...
