It finally works! I carried my PC to techsupport of the manufacturer and they fixed it. And all because I had some program called SoundMan in my PC. That program disabled my soundcard´s own program... They deleted whole program and updated drivers for Realtek-soundcard and voila!

I´m still having this same problem... :sad: I contacted with techsupport (2nd time) and they gave me many fixis, but they didn´t work. And when I wrote them, that their last fix didn´t work, they didn´t anymore e-mailed me... Great customer service, in deed... (this same happened also at...

I installed No-DVD.exe-file, but it didn´t help. PC crashed to blue screen when "Init MP/Voice" came... Some driver caused that, don´t know which one... I started to think, that the reason could be either the Realtek -soundcard or then the intergrated one at motherboard (Intel D915GAV). (...

I uninstalled Nero and InCD, but it helped nothing.

I just loaded patch 1.61, and... This is f..king marvelous!!! Now it´s saying that I´ve the wrong CD-ROM... :crazyeye: :crazyeye: :crazyeye: And I still have the DVD-Rom... :goodjob:

I´ve got patch 1.52. Been there, done that. No help. I did try to find any updates for my DVD-drive (Toshiba ODD-DVD SD-M1802), but I did find nothing...

When I click the icon to start the game, maybe 5 sec it seems to work fine... Then comes this box : Cannot locate the DVD-ROM "Please insert the correct DVD-ROM, select OK and restart application" What the heck is this? There is only one DVD-ROM, so I´m a little bit confused...

Take2Support has helped me a lot. This fix ended the rebooting: Change compatibility mode 1. Right click on the game icon 2. Click properties 3. Select the compatibilty tab 4. Tick the box that says "Run this program in compatibilty for:" 5. In the drop down box click on Windows 2000...

There isn't any errors at Application Log and System Log. I did empty those logs and before that I installed also Catalyst 6.2. So I'm 100% sure that there ain't errorlogs. Then I tried to load the game... But this time I did found some errors from /My Games/Sid Meyer's Civilization...

Today I went to store from where I bought the game and returned it and get new one. Well, I uninstalled CIV4 and other files, like MyGames etc. Then I rebooted the PC and after that, I installed the game again with patch 1.52. Then again I rebooted PC and then I tried to load the game...

Has anybody any ideas what´s causing the problem? Help! Hilfe! Hjälp! Apua!
