Just a couple notes from my current game (sheaim, huge, pangea)
First of all, alter victory is vastly overpowered. Right now there are Three civs all simultaneously going for altar victories. All of them are seperated from me by at least one other civ who I have closed borders with. What...
Orthus also messes with the warscript a bit.
In one of my test games I was attacked by orthus, and fought him off only after loosing one of my cities, and was immediately dogpiled.
While it is "realistic" I need a break after being attacked like that...
I installed the most recent version, 2.016 J...
I figured out the problem though... apparently a program that runs on my comp. during startup MASSIVELY slows down civ 4.
And thus slows down ffh as well.
That would be really cool, but it would take an age to get ships powerful enough to compete with it.
Still, the possibilities for capturing an early game ubership are huge... if a good mechanic could be devised, that would be great.
I think the biggest chane the dirge needs is it mus...
I think undead having tough is a great idea.
It would mean people actually use diseased corpes
If skeletons were reduced to 2 strength it would really help early game balance. Skellies would still be tricky to deal with because of tough, but they wouldn't be as obnoxious as they are now.
I agree, the dirge is too strong.
My first game in .16 featured the dirge moving next to my capital on turn 2
Umm... ok? Quit to main menu?
It can just walk up and kill you (happened in another game), which really isn't fun.
I think the Bar trait may actually be overpowered in this release.
just an easy-to-fix problem I noticed:
The AI doesn't realize that your alignment effects lawbringers. Watching 5 lawbringers all withdraw in a row was amusing, but all those conjurers should have been summoning something else!
