New patch today (9-30-2010). Patch notes?

Steam just downloaded a new patch, but when I went to the update history to read the patch notes, I found that Valve apparently made a mistake and gave us the patch notes for the game Rhythm Zone instead. I feel a surge of hope every time I see a Civ5 patch, so... anyone happen to have access...

Oh catherine, we hardly recognize you

I like her CivRev look the best. ...Did I just say something positive about CivRev? Dammit.

    Communism and planned economy

I'd have to name one of them "bread" to go along with the circuses we can already build. Now that food in the game is represented by fruit, I have to get my bread from somewhere!

    Communism and planned economy

Good point. All that messy "meek shall inherit the earth" business just doesn't pan out. The meek are just too meek to stand up for the inheritance. If only they weren't meek... wait... Of course. I was just pointing out that a couple of the loonier Communist leaders in the past century...

    Communism and planned economy

Kim Il-Sung did so, and his son continues to do so. It's a harder sell these days, what with the widespread famine in North Korea.

I am waiting for a patch that fixes the AI before I buy the game

Better received? At least one poll on this forum has 90% of users liking Civ5. The other 10% just happens to be really, really loud.

Where's My Airport / Airlift Feature?

I agree, I think airports should be tile improvements in Civ5. It makes sense to me - given how much space airports take up in the real world, and as a result of this, the fact that they're almost never built in downtown areas, but right outside them instead. But I really miss airlifting, so...

I am waiting for a patch that fixes the AI before I buy the game

Okay, fair enough. But I don't know why we need another thread about the AI. Even fans of Civ5 (such as myself) agree that the AI is busted.

    Who's idea was it to...

Actually, I like National Wonders, because they help make small empires feasible. It's a lot harder to build NWs with a large empire, but a large empire produces more science, gold, hammers, etc. just from sheer size. For a small empire, which can more easily build NWs, they help ease the...

Research Agreements - Too much reward for so little investment?

I've noticed this about a lot of things in Civ5 - a weak start is a lot likelier to cripple you in 5 than in 4. Not necessarily a bad thing, just an observation.

    So my current ranking of the Civ series is: 4 > 5 > 2 > 3

I'm honestly surprised by the love for Civ3. I mean, there's nothing wrong with it, but I find Civ4 so much better than 3 that I'm surprised there are a lot of big-time 3 fans. It's interesting to me how much people's favorite Civ games can vary. I mean, take a series like Heroes of Might and...

    trade route broken!?

If you're at war, I believe an enemy unit standing on your road breaks the route.

    So my current ranking of the Civ series is: 4 > 5 > 2 > 3

I can't rank Civ1 because I never played it. And I'm not counting spin-offs because that complicates things too much. But for the main Civ series, that is my opinion on their order of quality. 4, 5, 2, 3. And honestly, the only reason I put 4 above 5 is because it's a lot more polished, which...
