    Legal Copy of Civ I

To be honest, I have more copies of civilization than that. I just OWN 3. I figure it's okay to make illegal copies of the rest if I have a lisence. Heck, I can only play one at a time! Which reminds me, it's been a while since I've asked about version 145.03. Does anyone have a copy of this I...

    i need help real bad!

Go to any win 9x machine with a 3.5" floppy and format the disk and "copy system files". Then you have DOS boot disk. Put it in and restart your computer (ANY OPERATING SYSTEM). You can run any DOS game now.

    Fankit for civ1

There definitely is not one. I know because I've seen every civ 1 site ever made (literally) and there just aren't many of them and nothing in common really. I have EVERYTHING, though... screenshots of every unit, wonder, improvement, terrain type... blah blah blah. I have the files that I...

    Civilization Quiz

Your guess is incorrect. This is only something that someone would know if they had bought 3-4 different copies of the game... I'm disappointed to see nobody here but me has done that. In any case, it means the distribution format. .04 is CD, .05 is floppy. Here is one that somebody might...

    Civilization Quiz

Cumulative quiz, eh....? Here's a hard one: In the DOS version numbers, what does the 3rd digit mean? i.e.: 474.05 or 475.05, what's the difference? Anyone who answers that can ask the next question...

    Exactly what is WinCiv

How to identify Civ 1 for DOS: The game DOES NOT run in a window, with the various windows-isms, the x in the corner, etc... When you start up it asks you to enter some numbers to navigate menus in order to select what sound/display options you want. This is the original civ1. How to identiy...

I need help finding a specific cheat

flying_dolphin, back in the 90's when I used to run a Civilization 1 dedicated site, I spent weeks (not hours, or days...) looking for all kinds of Civilization resources on the internet. The sum total of Civ 1 materials on the internet is: - The Civilization FAQ, and a few other minor...

    The Original Civ1 game

How many times do I have to point out that Civilization, the computer game, is NOT based on Advanced Civilization, the Avalon Hill board game! They share little more than a common name and the fact that they are both strategy games. There is, in fact, a computer game version of the board game...

    need help in buying!

The fastest way to play civ1 is in true, true DOS (from a boot disk, as in other topics) and on a fast pentium computer. The game flies. Units on "Go" zoom across the screen. The game can even keep up with me ;) sometimes I get a little fast with those keyboard commands but it doesn't beep out...

    Emperor level w/o cheats:possible?

The future wars are a lot more fun. But I think you will need a better enemy than just one little island... heh. Start again and let them be a little stronger than that. If you are going to use nukes, two helpful tips: 1. Use them to attack ships. You can wipe out whole fleets at once and...

    Emperor level w/o cheats:possible?

Theoretically, it is better to go with cities of various sizes, complicated infrastructure, and a more complicated government for better world domination, but in practice it just presents too many complications that get out of control and just cause problems. Also, with that way your cities are...
