IIRC, this only affects which unit spawns in the capital for each civ if in both a Capture the Unit game mode AND the "Auto Place Capture Units" option is selected in the scenario properties. It doesn't affect how the AI treats the unit, it just makes sure there's a "Princess" to be captured for...
Hi guys,
Unfortunately I cannot get these files at the moment - my harddrives they were on and backed up to both failed. I may have them on an even older harddrive (we're talking 20 years here), but I'm not going to risk even plugging it in to nose around until I've got a solid enough place to...
This, and also for consideration: it would be nice if the defensive Combat Values for improvements could be cumulative.
The percentage on the explanatory notes measures how much of a percentage of the unhappy population are unhappy due to that reason, and this should always add up to 100%. It...
The "Sea Oil" should be a seperate strategic resource. All harbours or whatever would produce the resource "Sea Oil", which would allow the cities with both harbours and sea oil in the radius to build oil rigs, which produce oil. Remember - for the "requires resources in the city radius" flag...
As a convulted workaround, Harbors could generate the strategic resource "Sea Oil" in their city and the "Oil Rig" improvement which generates Oil could require Sea Oil in the radius? Downside is it'd also give all cities with a harbour the tile yields for the Sea Oil resource.

As for the starting settler, I'm not so sure the AI for barbarians is coded to handle non-combat units (settlers/workers/scouts) at all; perhaps for future consideration in...
It could be possible, but using jungles or marsh instead of hills/mountains/volcanos would make it difficult to "chain" it right.
Deserts are a base terrain tile and also have some funky rules regarding placement, but could theoretically be done, but it would take a LOT of patience and...
