I voted Eh, sometimes. I would suggest that you try terra. I think you may like it.
All the civs start on a single pangea, but there is another undiscovered continent.
by the time you get there it will be infested with barbarians - musketmen, riflemen
and the like depending on difficulty...
I'm trying to get an idea if other players use build research (available with alphabet),
build wealth (available with currency) or build culture (available with music). I almost
never use these, but I've been having second thoughts. Build research could be useful
for space race. Build...
I was wondering if other players pillage Town / Village / Hamlet / Cottages in
enemy territory. I'm not talking about military resources this is specificly
TVHC.
There is a good chance I will go for culture here. Does anyone know
how much culture you need for a victory in on a marathon map?
My guess is 80,000 in each of three cities. I could not find this info
in the civilopedia. If it is there I missed it.
I'm wondering if other people try to put a forge in every city
they build or not. I do and I try to do it early in the city's life.
I find the extra hammers to be quite helpful even if it is a
city surrounded by cottages. In terms of this discussion, you
do already have knowledge of metal...
Shaka is great fun. I like the uu and ub, but he does play differently.
He's the best pillaging civ in the game with chariot / impi combo. Maybe this
is more valuable in multiplayer. Oh only if impis could beat axemen.
No doubt his ub is good.
As other posters have said. I do like to go work boat first if available.
Also, if a three food and one coin tile is available. I like to go warrior
first and complete the warrior the same turn the city grows to size 3.
Then build a worker. As a side note I research religion in the...
Does anyone know or have seen a chart regarding culture victory
conditions. I think the reference I have seen shows you must
have three cities with 50,000 culture. I don't think this holds
true with all maps. I think map size and / or game speed changes this.
For example you need more...
I'm a spacious builder as well. Fewer cities mean less maintenance
costs. The problem arises when capturing enemy cities. The AI
uses excessive overlap and poor city placement. I don't like overlap,
but sometimes I do it for the same reasons as previous posters.
Mansa is best for my style for space race victory and Elizabeth is
very good too.
The problem I run into with Elizabeth is the mid game tech tree.
Banking - UB, Rifling - UU and Education --> Liberalism for space race
really splits her tech tree at a bad time and they are all important.
I generally attempt 2-3 from
Stonehenge
Great Library
Great Lighthouse
Oracle
depending on the map and availability of coastal, stone and marble.
I might try Great Wall, Pyramids or Hanging Gardens if I'm industrial
for engineer points. From there I usually do not try another until...
Certainly none of these are "wrong". I don't go for culture victories
and the National Epic does generate great artist points. Artists
are the one I try to avoid. I haven't decided myself the best solution.
Terrain and space permitting I try to have one GP farm and I do mix
scientists...
I don't think this has been mentioned yet. Forgive me if it has.
You must have an open borders agreement with a foreign civ
to have trade routes with that specific civ.
Yes, the city with marble and copper would be my choice as well.
I would turn that city into a military production city initially and
later into a great person farm.
