Is playing Civ 4 linked to higher intellignce?

Bah, humbug! BTW, there isn't more complicated (as a game, not rules) and superior game than chess (IMHO, of course). Wenla

At what point do you just give up?

I don't give up, I think that I can learn about(?) lost game as much (or even more) than about won games. Wenla

Ever tried playing Civ after drinking too much??

Mostly I take once a week 3 (strong) beers and this amount doesn't affect my gaming. BUT sometimes I take good single malt and I have learned that before I take my first drink I'll take BW (Before Whiskey) - save. It's a shame to admit that I have needed it every now and then next day :rolleyes...

    WW1 and civ4

It is definitely (?) a strategy game (you have to plan advanced what to do, when, where and how (and specially WHY) etc etc). Trading is only part of the implementation and measure of your strategy (if you have one :mischief: ) and good, well-planned and really working logistsics is one of most...

    WW1 and civ4

If you like to play a good strategy game with logistical angle, try Patrician III, one of my all-time favorite. Wenla

My 3rd game of Civ 4

I don't play just anything else than panagea/huge which means 10 opponents. I don't either like war games and I have quite often (but not allways) maintained peace with all of opponents through the whole game period. IMHO this is possible if you develop from start more power (=good defencive...

    Examine City on Capture?

Humble suggestion: 1) quick save (Shift F5) before doing anything else 2) capture city 3) examine city 4) if you like to keep it, go on to 8) 5) if you don't like to keep it, then 6) quick load (Shift F8) 7) destroy/raze city 8) continue Wenla

So we all love Civ IV, but why?

There are enermous mount of possibilities to define and test different kind of strategies for different kind of games (=lot of parameters/options to make games (maps, opponents etc etc)). It's never boring. No wonder that my other (current) favourite games are EU III and Patrician III. Wenla

Should I move up to prince?

Lol... If I'll stay on settler, then I absolutely know my level... Wenla

Should I move up to prince?

I use method where: - if I win, I'll start next game one level higher - if I lose, I'll start next game one lever lower So I see my development easily and I don't have to think/guess when I'll be ready for next level. Wenla

    Why did/do play Civ games?

I have been TBS - game lover for a long time and Civ serial since Civ II. Civ is one of best (after chess of course) TBS games ever with Patrician III (just to mention current ones I mostly play). Civ is a real strategy game because you can define several strategies for several goals and that's...
