I definitely micro manage workers at the start of the game to get hooked up on crucial resources, after that it depends. If I have a relatively small civilization and I'm going for cultural or space victory, then I'll probably micro manage throughout the game to make sure I'm being as efficient...

When the AI becomes a vassal of another allied AI when he only has one or two cities left, forcing peace. Incrediblely annoying for me, I like to finish the job off when I'm conquering, not leave one or two cities of his and for him to keep contacting me about how much he hates me.
