In 386 BC the Persian empire is still the most feared power in the Eastern Mediterranean despite its defeat in Hellas. But it has to fight many internal problems: disorders and revolts. Thus the Egyptians are able to free their lands from the Persians. The hegemonial power in Hellas is Sparta. Athens is also becoming stronger again and tries to re-establish its naval power, but the golden age of the free Poleis is over. In Northern Greece a new opponent appears: Macedonia. In the Western Mediterranean, Carthage expands its trade empire and increasingly comes into conflict with the Greek cities of Sicily, especially Syracuse. By contrast, Rome's sphere of influence still ends shortly beyond its own city walls. So the Romans set out to conquer Italy...

Civilization 2: Test of Time version 1.1- Test of Time Patch Project (v0.9 or higher)
- Extract the archive into your main Test of Time folder.
- Run one of the 3 batch files (Romans, Carthaginians or Macedonians) to complete the setup before playing. You may need to run the batch files as an administrator.
- You must have the 'Terrain overlays' option enabled in the ToTPP launcher.
- The ToTPP's 'No stack kills' option and 'Incremental rush buying' exploit fix are enabled in the game's rules files. If you wish to play using these options, tick the corresponding boxes in the ToTPP launcher.
- To hide the health bars for Fortress and Wooden Castle units, tick the 'Override health bars' option in the ToTPP launcher.
- Under Graphic Options (Ctrl+P), disable Animated Units.
Save all games in the Imperium Romanum scenario folder.
