Osborne Russell was a mountain man politician who in the 19th century pushed for the independence of Cascadia. The Republic of Cascadia would be the states of Oregon, Washington and British Columbia. Although some have stated that it should also include the coastal Alaskan Panhandle to the north, extending into Northern California in the south, and inland to include parts of the Yukon, Idaho, Wyoming and Western Montana.
He could also be used for any mountain man or fur trapper of the 17th - 20th centuries.
