Adds the Kingdom of Zeal from Chrono Trigger as a playable civilization. The Gods and Kings expansion is required.
UU: Blackbird. Replaces the Great War Bomber. Powered by special techonology with magical properties based on harnessing the power of the elements. The magical engines used to propel the Blackbird do not require Oil, and allows the Blackbird to operate at longer ranges than Great War Bombers (base range 8). Great for long-range naval sieges when coupled with carriers.
UB: Academy of Magical Arts. It is here where the "Art of Dreaming", and advanced knowledge of the magical arts used to power and advance Zeal's creations is taught. The knowledge shared within is the cornerstone of the kingdom, each one housing lavish shrines, statues and art all dedicated to Queen Zeal. Replaces the University, and provides +1 Faith and +1 Culture in addition to the normal benefits of a University. Cost to build/maintain unchanged.
Leader (and Trait): Queen Zeal (The Black Omen)
The Kingdom of Zeal was a center of great culture and art, and one of the most advanced in Chrono Trigger, in spite of it being 13,000 years before the "Present", and the Black Omen stood as an incredibly ominous figure for 14,000 years, quietly awaiting the Day of Lavos. The Kingdom of Zeal gets a +30% bonus to the generation of Great Artists, Engineers and Merchants and all Landmarks worked by cities of Zeal provide an additional +2 Culture.
This is Civ #2 in the start of my Civ Pack and is also based on a great Square game, Chrono Trigger. The Kingdom of Zeal is a great choice for players who prefer non-Domination Victory methods. Though clearly best suited for a cultural victory, do not mistake Zeal for weak. Zeal will really shine when you beat everyone to building all those wonders that improve culture and great person generation. As soon as you obtain Flight you can start producing Blackbirds, whose increased operational range is both an offensive and defensive advantage, without having to obtain any oil. I used the picture of Lavos there as the diplo screen because I couldn't find any decent pictures of Queen Zeal near the resolution I was looking for.
Once I've added a few more civilizations, I will associate them as a whole pack. I welcome and am open to constructive feedback and criticism. I'm not a super-pro Civ player, and I'm trying to keep abilities and uniques relatively on par with default civs in terms of overall advantage given, so if there's potential balance issues, typos and the like, please leave it in the comments and I'll fix it when I can.
