¿civ 3 multi?

in jackal.txt u have a bunch of lines like this one:

#caption Host or Join Session
Would you like to host a new game or join an existing one?

does it mean that they disactivated the Multiplayer option or somethin? and can u reactivate it?

Civilization 3 was launched without Multiplayer possibilities, but with the announcement of a patch in spring 2002 which will make Multiplayer possible.

I suspect the lines are just something they have forgotten when deleting everything about multiplayer when this decision was made.

Or maybe they put it in just to make the patch smaller
