Сity limit?

I believe the Test of Time patch project removes the city limit, yes.

Hi,

ToT also has 255 I believe. The Test of Time Patch Project (see the sticky near the top of this form) allows unlimited cities, though the game bogs/is unstable after a certain number:

23. City & unit limits: This patch increases the limits on the number of cities and units in the game.
You can make changes to the limits below, up to an absolute limit of 32k, although very large numbers may cause
stability issues.
When loading a saved game, this patch will automatically update the home cities of all units to allow for the larger
limits. Updated saved games should always be played with the patch enabled, even though they might work in the
unmodified game. Changing the limits here is always possible, even for games in progress.
Recommended: 1024 cities, 4096 units.

Please consider checking out the patch project. It makes one of the greatest games of all time even more amazing.

Here's a link to a brand new scenario that takes full advantage of it: https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/napoléon-i-1805-1815-totpp-and-lua-scenario-released.638700/

Here's a link to a scenario I released earlier this year that also takes advantage of it: https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/caesars-gallic-wars.628330/

You, friend, have found this game at the perfect time. Enjoy!

Hello and greetings, it's been quite a while since my last post.
Given that I play CIV2 Classic on WinXP 32 bit,
I'd like to ask if there's a way to edit the city footprint size;
in other words, city size is a cross, 3 squares wide, 5 across.
In real life, however, a city's inhabitants would go and seek resources where available;
for example, Vikings in Scandinavia have mountains or ocean;
ok, so create a "lopsided city footprint" 1 square deep into the mountains and 3 deep into the ocean".
OR... on prairie, enlarge it from 3x5 to 5x7...

Just wondering...

I've never heard of anything like this being done, and I'm inclined to think that it is even beyond the possibility of the Test of Time Patch Project.

With ToTPP, the number of cities you build is only limited by actual map size.

so ToT has this patch, but does MGE have one too?

I would really like to have the limits removed on number of cities and number of units.
