I finally found the time to install R&F - I get to the menu, can set up the game and the loading screen showing me the leader gets up. The voice starts talking, then there is a crack in the spoken lines, after that CTD. I suspect a soundproblem. Never had problems running CivVI vanilla...

I verified the steamfiles, de- and reinstalled twice but couldn't get on the map!
No mods - Killed all of it.

What to do?

Check subscriptions. Not R&F, but I had Fix Start Location Fix subscribed, which seemed to cause CTD for me.

Thx. Had the same thing but unsubscribed every abo, even deleted documents/mygames/civ 6 folder.
De - and reinstalling didn't work for me either.
I then deleted lots of *.lua files manually from the base folder and verified the files via steam. That did the trick. Finally.
