[1.0.0.38] Slowdown/ Crashes in late game (DX12)

So I'm into my fifth game post patch and my last couple of games have seen a lot of instability in the middle to late game.

All my games post patch have been on DX12

Issues
- lag/slowdown/sluggishness at random points during my turns as I'm processing through the units and available builds and my screen is jumping throughout the map

- lots of crashes IBT when AI is processing turns. this is AFAIK not the same issue as crash on next turn bug which is replicable on the same turn as I am able to continue my game without a crash by returning to the autosave of the prior turn before crash

I run on a pretty beefy i7 6700k@4.6GHz with a GTX 1080 and had not seen this issu3 pre patch.

Anyone else have this issue?
