1.0 gram - Ancient Age All-Stars (C3C - Modified Rules)

Awesome job denyd, taking even over 40 tiles in one turn! :wow: :goodjob:

Nice game gents, was a real honour to play with all you. :hatsoff:

Thanks guys, I was really worried that Palenque would flip and I'd lose the MDI Army there. I tried twice to get replacement garrison, but the Maya longbows kept cutting them off.

The victory at Uxmal probably cost 15 knights, as I was attacking with wounded units, the city was taken by a redlined knight beating a 2/3 LB. Knossos was taken when a 4/4 Pike beat a redlined MDI, I ran out of knights and won with my last unit that could reach the city.

This was great fun. We spent a lot more time in the middle ages than I thought we would. It was strange after all those past games where cavalry & tanks are about in 1500 AD to still be using knights and pikes.

I was actually a little disappointed on how fast the tech pace was... I thought we'd be about twice as long in the AA...

But, was a great game and a great ending. thanks to all for that. :D

depending on the number of contacts, it's actually very easy for the AA to end before 1000BC in demigod. iirc, i think ours ended around 10BC, which is pretty long considering that we were on a pangea. however, it would have been nice for it to last till at least 250AD. probably tripling the price of the AA techs would have worked better.

I'm sure the goody huts also played a part. Maybe using a continents or archipelago map to slow down trading would help.

Or, do it completely different and just make all the ancient and middle age techs untradeable.... Things are really slowed down, but the ai researches faster....

and, the map looks nice now .... :)
