ive got open boarders with salidin, the only one on my island besides me, and it still says that im at -1 because our boarders are closed.. i thought they had fixed this?
1.09, anyone still reporting open boarders bug?

You have a penalty to relations because your borders are CLOSE, not CLOSED. i.e, you are right next to each other and this is causing tension. There are no penalties for closed borders, you are misreading the text.
Since this seems to be about the 15th time someone has made this mistake can you please change the text to make this point clearer Firaxis? Or can we make a "No these aren't bugs, but people keep asking about them" thread.
The bug they fixed was to do with AI units not being removed from territory when they declared war on someone with open borders.

not my fault his are too close, he expanded west till he met me.. i expanded south and west from my original spot... he only has himself to blame for it

Heh, no problem. I just seem to have answered this question an awful lot lately. This is one diplomacy modifier you really can't do anything about, and will always be there unless you've got an island to yourself.

well.... im about to not share an island.. i decided that it was safer for me to not have a border than to have one.. almost won before i had to leave for work but he snuck some units behind the lines and recaptured one of his cities... so now i have to rebuild my army and go after it. *pouts* taking his hilltop capital and seven to eight defenders was not pretty 
even with siege weapons.
