1.17f patch problem

Hello.

I'm getting an error message when trying to install the patch. It keeps giving me a : "Incompatible version of the RPC Stub" error. I'm running Win98 SE. Does anyone know what's causing this? Thanks in advance.

My game "works" but it takes like unreasonably too long to for the computer to do its turn.. not playable.. What fun is it to wait literally 15-20 minutes to get to your turn again?? What went wrong in the patch.. im reinstalling the old one i think
