1.61 Patch Error

I was using the ingame updater and when it finished downloading the new patch and i started it, I got a message saying that no previous version of CivIV was found. Any clues on how to resolve this ?

I get this same error. I've totally removed all files involved for the game, reinstalled and tried again. That does NOT work.
I did use the direct2drive service to get my game...maybe that had somthing to do with it?
The 1.52 patch installed fine...I've also tried to download the patch by itself, not from the ingame menu and it still fails.

I had the same problem guys. I had to download the new patch as an .exe file and run the executable. It worked then. Good luck!
