Ok so I found another civ4.exe to get my game to run, but everytime I start a new game I only get 10 turns before somebody wins a time victory. Is this a problem with the civ4.exe?

The 10-turn 'problem' is a security feature of Civ4 triggered by the use of no-CD hacks and similar security bypassing software. Seeing as your earlier post also displayed that you were using this software, I would suggest that you place the CD or DVD you purchased into your media drive and install and play from there. If you didn't purchase the game, then you need to do so or find another board because this one has a No Tolerance policy towards pirating and cracks.

Well you are wrong. I do own the CD but the game refuses to launch with it and gives me the .tmp error message everytime, hence why I resorted to finding no CD programs like everybody else who encounters this problem.

I just noticed this problem as well. I use cd cracks for all of my games. CD cracks are not illegal, they're just mostly used by people pirate games.

I play a lot of games and having to sort through countless cd roms gets annoying. I hate how the innocent are punished in order to punish the guilty. *sigh*

From an ethical point of view I agree with you: if you have your legal copy of a game you should use a "no-cd patch" to avoid possible CD damage. Where is the problem?

But, in practice, it's often considered illegal to use these cracks... different game license state explicitly that "you have to use the CD to play the game".

The EULA for this game commits you to running it from the physical CD or DVD. If you don't want the disc, buy the software at www.direct2drive.com. Not everybody who encounters your problem "breaks in" with cracks Revolover. Search these forums.
