Real glitch in my game at present...rolling along happily getting 100+ coin each turn, all cities well housed and with enough amenities and then suddenly find my self with every second city in revolt, negative amenities in ALL cities including one with -14 and zero money and -100 each turn.

I am using some mod Ananases/CQUI at present but have used them before but the game suddenly has gone berserk. Barbarians everywhere and gone from a winning position to what do I do???

Wow, that's insane. Rolling back to a previous save doesn't help? Making sure you didn't get all those amenities and GPT-values by trade?

I suspect that a mod was updated between my save and coming back into the game but I am not sure because nothing like this has happened before....the game is unplayable and I know I was a warmonger and now everyone hates me with -43 for me taking one city...is that a normal value -43 for declaring war and taking a city..because it seems extreme compared to all the other diplomatic scores a +2 here and -3 there.

Ok I am pretty sure now it was a mod update which made the game I was playing incompatible with the newer mod.

I actually remember that when I was playing a game with some nice +300 gold per turn I was at once looking at -200 gold per turn, but that was fixed again next turn. Before last patch, by the way, and also with a bunch of mods but none of the ones you mentioned.

Yes... in the diplomatic screen, I think third button down it gives you a rundown of your standing and points for and against eg +3 for friendly meeting, -43 war monger

You do need to have at least limited access level to know more than just "you have positive and negative modifiers of this size" though, but that shouldn't be too hard (just a delegation/embassy/trade route).

Updating/adding mods and expecting them to be compatible with current save games is optimism beyond all reason.

Yes, unfortunately, that is a normal modifier for that kind of action.

Yeah it's quite insane. In the game I'm playing right now (hint: I unlocked the Saka Archer Rush achievement) I have a -18 warmonger penalty for being declared war on by Germany in the classical era and then conquer their 3 cities. Just 3 cities, -18 with the two others I know, and that's classical era, when warmonger penalties are supposed to be low.

Oh well, decided to just continue to take that forward-settled city from china and then make peace and see what I can take off of Arabia on the other side while I start pumping out settlers to fill 2.5 civilizations worth of empty land.

Civ6 needs a makeover in line with the principles :
  • The game should encourage and reward the player for doing things that are fun
  • If something is extremely unfun to some players, it should be optional
  • If something is extremely unfun to most players, it should be changed or removed from the game
  • If all the players gravitate toward doing something the same way, and the game tells you it's wrong, then the game is wrong and should be changed to fit the players
