I'm currently building a new computer and it's going quite well, I'm just waiting for a few more parts to arrive. It occured to me that my new motherboard (an Abit NF7-S) doesn't have a port for a 15 pin gamepad or joystick. This is a slight problem as both my game pad and joystick have 15 pin connections. Does anyone have a (cheap) solution? Prehaps there is a device availible to convert it to USB or some sort of add-on to give my system a 15 pin port. If there is some sort of device I could buy could you please give me the name of a UK based website that sells such things cheaply. I would rather not purchase a new joystick and game pad and I'm certainly not replacing my motherboard. Thanks in advance.

You used to be able to buy expansion cards with 15-pin sockets on, but I haven't seen any for a while - we're talking ISA here - a shop that sells flight simulation stuff might have one. But I would guess the absolute cheapest way would be to buy a soundcard with one on. (the socket is also used as a midi port)

Well that's not going to happen, I have no ISA slot. A PCI card would nice if anyone knows where to get one or if they even exist.

I'll look into that. A USB converter would be nice as I will have enough ports, although I don't know if they exist either.

Would recommend you go for an obsolete/spare sound card than a USB convertor. In my experience they work a lot better at non games/MIDI usage. Older 4 or 2 channel cound cards can be picked up from shops in the Uk for £10 GBP or less... PM me if you want some suppliers for stuff like that.
