2nd UU for Civilizations

Your probably gonna have to make new Ancient age units so we can make better a.d.m.

New units w/ new techs.

Techs
Fire-- First row of techs-- leads to Iron Working-- build fire catapult and smelter

Units:
Fire Catapults-- Mathamatics& Fire-- bombard capabilities -- 0.0.1 adm -- 1 range 2 hits 30 shields--upgrade to trebuchet
Slingers-- Mathamatics-- 2.2.1 --40 shields --

That's all :wallbash: I'm not that good at this.

* Grassland/Plains when irrigated produces two extra food instead of one. This is to simulate a more "realistic" effect, IE when you irrigate desert you can't expect it to work as well as irrigating plains.

I don't think it can be done, but it would be better to add a SECOND irrigation to create farmlands in a later era...

America should ditch the F-15 but don't put in the B-52 because then it will become obselete very fast. I suggest putting in the B-1B since it won't become obselete and replaces the stealth bomber (not really reality thinking but for the game yes) and giving it more range and stronger bombardment. Also you could give America a supercarrier because if you think about it you relise that Americas power comes from air so a supercarrier are what the U.S. uses to spread its air power. Now these to combined would make America a force to reckon with in the modern ages yet still balance the game which the F-15 didn't.

Supercarrier:
Replaces Carrier
Extra Movement point and double the transport capacity

B-1B:
Replaces Stealth Bomber
Bigger Range and Stronger Bombardment or something like that

Hmm, I'm thinking that the Janissary Corps might best be represented if the unit replaces the Medieval Infantry (maybe even the Pikeman), since it was at the fall of Constantinople in 1453 (?) that defined this group of utterly loyal slave-soldiers.

Janissaries (Ottomans)
  • Cost: 40 Shields
  • ADM: 4.3.1
  • Requires: Iron
  • Available with Feudalism, replaces both the Medieval Infantry and the Pikeman.
I think that could work, though it would give the Ottomans a fairly expensive unit for defensive purposes...

Landsknecht (Germany)
  • Cost: 40 Shields
  • ADM: 5.2.1
  • Requires: Iron
  • Available with Feudalism, this unit replaces Medieval Infantry.
I believe the German states were famous for their use of heavily armoured foot soldiers who weilded giant two-handed swords. Their purpose was generally to cleave the heads off of those pesky pikes, which allowed for regular soldiers to head in and take the formations apart from the inside, out.

I've spent a little time trying to figure out what other people haven't been sure about, but I still am not overly satisfied.

The Hittites were the first to use iron in weapons, so they should get a UU relating to that.

Sumeria used battle cars, which could be a cheaper chariot? The only other important unit I could find was the phalanx, which seems better fitted to Greece (although the hoplite takes care of that type of UU).

Re: Hittites

Perhaps a 3.2.1 Swordsman replacement that costs fewer Shields?

Aztecs -- They already have a 1.1.2 UU the Jaguar Warrior, can't tink of something else.

Sumeria -- Very tricky, The "Enkidu Warrior" itself wasnt a real unit....

This is tough to do without creating "duplicate" UU. i.e. 2 civs with 3.2.2 UU's

The phalanx wasn't a specific troop, it was a formation of troops (generally hoplites).
