I have never played a 5BC game before (or even a multiplayer game!), and I know I'm not the only first time player on our team, so I thought it smart to start a thread dealing with the unique game-play challenges and opportunites of a 5BC+1ea game.
1) I assume that when/if we wind up at war with someone else, we won't simply attack to acquire the target city. We will need to discuss the consequences of that particular city being the 'one' from that civ. Do we have the option to Raze the city?
2) What happens in the event of an Iroquois city culture flipping to us (tho' I imagine that against 3 other human civs that won't happen)? Would that flipped Iroquois city (if we didn't rebuff the rebels) count as our only allowed captured from them?
3) Because there are only five built cities, I suppose the optimal arrangement would be a ring of four cities around the capital. This would eliminate corruption and waste. But in reality, will corruption even be a factor worth worrying about?
4) What are the factors governing the decision to disband a city? What economic considerations must be factored in? If we capture a Persian city, build as many workers from it as possible, and then disband it, are we then allowed to capture a second Persian city? Actually, as I write this and think about that scenario, I can imagine some significant benefits to this technique... In my own games (highest level I currently play is Regent) I have never disbanded a city, even a captured one.
